Hunger

Matthew 5:6 says " Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.". Wow!!! That says a lot right there, I was rocking my daughter to sleep tonight and thinking of how over the last few days she hasn't ate a lot due to being sick.  I always wonder is she getting enough to eat and drink to substain her and help her grow and be healthy. There are so many things these days to help you gain weight and to help you loose weight, there is the so called healthy eating, organic foods, then you have, soul food, southern food, junk food, soft drinks, tea, fruit juice, diet drinks, caffeine free drinks, wow I could go on forever. My point is that we don't look at our spiritual hunger and thirst, quite as much as our natural. If we as individuals and as the church would seek God first and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.... Matthew 6:33. We feed on anger, jealousy, offense, laziness, and drink gossip, and hurt. I have been so hungry before that it has made me sick feeling! I don't know about anyone else, but I need God more in my life than I ever have. The next time you go to the fridge or the cabinet or in our case that secret stash of cookies or chips think about your your appetite after God and how long it's been since you witnessed to someone, spent time with a friend, volunteered at a local ministry, or just simply sat down with the Father and drank from his cup!!??? Love you all! JPH
